Liverpool 1-0 Trabzonspor: Cole Penalty-miss, Babel scored

Liverpool midfielder, Joe Cole, admitted regret at the action failed to execute a penalty play-off first leg against Trabzonspor Europa League, Thursday (19/08/2010). Still, he thinks Liverpool's position is good, because it has successfully closed the match with a 1-0 victory.

Liverpool goals scored by Ryan Babel in the 45th minute thanks to assists Cole. At minute 52, Cole is believed to execute the penalty. However, the shot successfully secured Kivrak Onur goalkeepers.

Despite a matter of penalties, Cole admitted quite satisfied with its performance as a regulator of the attack.

"It was a bad penalty. It was a bad penalty, but we won 1-0 and we must take positive things from there," said Cole.



"It is my job to make the goal, and fun to do that to Ryan. He is a great player. I'm enjoying my time here. I had a decent start," he added.

This action represents the second game as a player Liverpool Cole. In his debut match, namely against Arsenal in the Premier League stage, last weekend, he was a red card due to block the defender Lauren Koscielny.

Liverpool reject the appeal against the red card and so, in three Premier League matches ahead, Liverpool would not be strengthened Cole.
